10 Day Uganda Trip with Kids

The 10 Day Program is tailored for those who want to spend more time in Uganda but it can as well be customised to your needs and preferences

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport or Pick up from the hotel for your 10 Day Gorilla Tracking Tour.

On this first day, you will be picked up from Entebbe international airport or Hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and drive to Lake Mburo National Park through the small towns of Uganda, you will have a stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photograph and equator expereince. You will proceed to Lake Mburo National park arriving in time for lunch with en route game drive to thr lodge, you will  check in a the lodge for your hot lunch and After lunch you will take a boat on the lake in search of Hippos, Crocodiles and water birds among others and after boat cruise you will have a game drive for wildlife viewing

Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DAY 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After breakfast, enjoy an en route game drive through Lake Mburo National Park and then Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South Western Uganda. This journey takes you through the green rolling hills of Uganda with banana and tea plantations which offer great scenic views. Lunch will be served en route and you will arrive in Bwindi in the evening, you will check in at the lodge followed by relaxation you will later have dinner and after your driver guide will brief you about the next days program which is gorilla trekking experience.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

For Kids above 15years will do gorilla trekking and those below age since they are not allowed, they will do a nature walk or community tour. After an early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will report to the Park Headquarters at about 7:45 am for registration and then you will join other trackers for a briefing about the Dos and the Don’ts during your Gorilla Tracking experience. Your driver guide will hepl you to choose the gorilla family to visit depending on your preference and the time you would like to spend in the forest, You will later be asigned armed ranger guides to lead you through the thick creepers and undergrowth as you trek to find the Gorillas. 

This trek can take you half an hour to three quarters of the day depending on the location of the gorilla family you will visit. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Once you find them, you will spend one hour with them taking pictures and explaining to you the lifestyle of these mountain gorilla families. Yoou will later return to the park headquarters to meet your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge. It is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning you will bid farewell to Bwindi Impenetrable National park and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. So, be prepared for some incredible scenery along the way. You will arrive in time for Lunch check in at the lodge and enjoy hot lunch and in the afternoon, you will start your game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search for Savannah wildlife that may include herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and if you are lucky, you will spot some wild cats such as lions and leopard, you will later return for relaxation followed y dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat on Kazinga Channel.

This morning you will head back to the plains of Kasenyi for a morning game drive for chances of seeing the morning raisers and to find what you could have missed seeing in the previous game drive, you will see herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and if lucky, some wild cats such as lions and leopard, you will later drive back to the lodge for hot lunch and you will later head to the jetty along the Kazinga channel, this boat cruise offers a chance to spot over 400 species of water birds, many wild animals as they flock this channel for drinking water and above all, kazinga channel has the highest concentration of hippos, you will see a variety of Hippopotamus while on this boat cruise. This can be the highlight of your uganda trip with Kids, as Kids will see several animals

Day 6: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, you will have an optional game drive in the Northern bank of the Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kasenyi) area in search of some wild animals which include: Elephants, Buffalo, and some wild cats, different species of antelopes such water buck, Uganda kobs etc. as well as Savannah birds. After lunch you will bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National park and drive to Kibale National Park you will have lunch en route and procced to the lodge arriving in the evening, you will check in at the lodge have dinner and overnight

Day 7: Chimp Tracking in Kibale and Bigodi Weltand Walk.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park Headquarters located at Kanyanchu. Here, you will join other trekkers for briefing before you proceed into the forest for chimpanzee trekking. You will be led by a well-trained and experienced ranger/guide who will take you for a guided primate walk inside Kibale Forest National Park. This forest provides an opportunity to visit one of the habituated communities of chimpanzees. You are allowed to spend an hour with these Great Apes while observing their behaviour. 

Kibale National Park is also home to other 13 primate species which can also be spotted while trekking the Chimpanzees. Of course there are also numerous species of forest birds. In fact, this is another haven for bird lovers. After lunch, you will head to Bigodi wetland for a wetland walk with opportunities to see primates and several bird species. This walk will enable you appreciate the role of the of the local people around Bigodi in conserving the wetland. You can choose to support them through donation in kind. Please note that this is a voluntary act.

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park and visit the top of the falls

Today, after breakfast you will transfer to Murchison falls National Park, you will have stops on the Way and enruote Lunch in Hoima town, you will then proceed to the Park, you will visit the top of the Falls and take memorable Pictures and then proceed to check in at the Hotel

Day 9: Morning game drive in Park and afternoon boat cruise on River Nile to the bottom of the falls

This day, you will explore the northern banks of the River Nile commonly known as Paraa for your early morning Game drive. The northern bank of the park provides a great opportunity to spot several antelopes, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, buffaloes, and if you are lucky, you will spot some big cats such as leopards and lions. You will then then go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the Falls. On your way from the jetty point to the bottom of the Falls, you will spot several herds of buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos etc. as they flock the River Nile to drink water as well as some water bird species. You will continue upstream to the base of the Falls to observe how the water squeezes in a narrow gorge to only later explode in what has been referred to as the strongest and most powerful water Falls in Uganda. Your Kids and family will enjoy the cruise on your Uganda trip with Kids

Day 10:  Transfer back to Entebbe/Kampala via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Later end the trip

This morning, after breakfast you will bid fare well to the lodge and transfer to Kampala\ Entebbe International Airport via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you head out to track the amazing White Rhinos as they roam freely in the Sanctuary, you will then Have Lunch and proceed to Entebbe to end the 10Day Uganda trip with Kids
