7 Day 6nights Multi Park Neyna Safari
A 7day safari to the Multi-Park Kenya Safari often includes additional stops in most national parks, such as Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, or Amboseli National Park, to provide a more diverse experience. The final itinerary and cost will depend on your choice of lodging (budget, mid-range, or luxury) and mode of transport (road or flying).
Sample 7-day multi-park safari itinerary
This road-based itinerary provides a classic tour of several Kenyan parks, including multiple days in the Masai Mara.
- Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park. Begin your journey with a drive from Nairobi to Amboseli, famous for its large elephant herds and iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Day 2: Amboseli National Park. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with opportunities to see the Big Five and other wildlife against the backdrop of Africa’s highest peak.
- Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha. After a morning game drive, drive to Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Here you can take a boat safari to see hippos and various bird species.
- Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru. Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its population of rhinos and the spectacular flamingo flocks that congregate on the lake’s shores.
- Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara. Journey to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive. This reserve is known for its high concentration of lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
- Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve. Spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara on morning and afternoon game drives. If you are traveling between July and October, you might witness the Great Migration.
- Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi. After a final early morning game drive and breakfast, return to Nairobi by road.
Best time to visit
- July to October (Dry Season): This is the most popular time to visit, as it coincides with the Great Migration. Wildlife viewing is excellent because vegetation is sparse, and animals congregate around water sources.
- January to March (Dry Season): Predator action is high during this period, as many herbivores give birth. This is also a great time for birdwatching.
- November to June (Wet Season): While game viewing can be more challenging due to lush vegetation, this period offers fewer crowds, discounted rates, and great photographic opportunities with green landscapes.
What to pack
- Clothing: Pack lightweight, neutral-colored, and breathable layers. Long-sleeved shirts and pants will protect you from the sun and insects. A warm jacket or fleece is essential for cooler mornings and evenings.
- Essentials: Bring a wide-brimmed hat, polarized sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle. Sunscreen and insect repellent are also crucial.
- Gear: Don’t forget your camera gear and binoculars to enhance your wildlife viewing experience.
- Travel Documents: Ensure your passport, yellow fever certificate, travel insurance, and necessary health certificates are in order and kept in a secure, waterproof pouch.
