  • Kyambura has a small habituated community and the trek can take about 2-5 hours to and from.

  • Chimpanzee trekking is one of the most sought activities to do in Uganda, the country has been famously known for chimpanzees and gorilla population concentration in Africa.
  • While on Chimpanzee trekking, you will visit chimps in their natural environment which gives you an opportunity to see the chimps for one hour once you find them in the forest to observe how they feed, move and go about their daily lives.

  • The trek takes 30 minutes to hours, depending on the movement of the chimpanzees. What is the Cost of Chimpanzee permits in Uganda?           

  • For the chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park, the Trekking permit costs USD200 per person per trek for Non-Foreign Residents, USD150 per person for East African Residents and Uganda shillings 150.000 per person for East African Citizens.
  • Chimpanzee permits for Kyambura Gorge cost USD100 for Non-Foreign Residents, East African Residents pay USD80 and Uganda shillings 30,000 for East African citizens. You will need to Pay entrance fees for Queen Elizabeth National Park.
  • Chimpanzee Permits for Budongo Forest Reserve in Murchison falls National Park cost USD100 per person for Non- Foreign Residents, USD 90 per person for Residents and USD55 per person for East African Citizens. You have to Pay entrance fee as well.
  • The Chimpanzee trekking permits in Kalinzu cost USD50 per person, the cost is inclusive of forest entrance fees and guiding fees for the day. The permits are secured from National Forest Authority governing body for all forest reserves in Uganda.
