Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
Gorilla trekking is one of the highlights of Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee safari, Gorilla tracking refers to moving in the forest to see/view a given habituated mountain gorilla family. Gorilla trackers/advanced team/rangers use many signs and methods to trace these gorillas before gorilla trekking takes place, the trackers wakeup very early every morning and go to the forest in search for these mountain gorillas.
Once they find them, then they will communicate to the park headquarters and it’s then the guides after briefing the visitors on dos and don’ts, they will start to walk and trek in the forest as they are directed by the trackers. This gives you 99% chances of seeing the gorillas in their natural environment in either Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga or Ruhija gorilla regions. You can opt to do gorilla trek at the beginning on your safari or at the end and this depends on availability of permits.
- The cost of the gorilla permits depends on the activity chosen between gorilla habituation experience and gorilla trekking.
- The Gorilla trekking permits in Bwindi cost USD800 per person for Non-foreign Residents, USD700 for East African Residents and Ugx 300,000 for East African Citizens.
- The gorilla Habituation permits cost USD1500 for Non-Foreign Residents, USD1000 for East African Residents and Uganda shs. 750,000 for East African Citizens and you are allowed to spend four hours’ time with the gorillas.
Game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the closet game park to Bwindi impenetrable National Park where gorilla trekking is done as part of the Uganda gorilla and game safari. You will be required to Pay USD40 for Park entrance fees per day to Uganda Wildlife Authority while in the park.
We do offer morning and afternoon games in game tracks through Kasenyi, Ishasha and the north Kazinga plains will offer you with the best sightings for Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes, Warthogs, Hippos and many others. Our experienced guide will help in spotting the animals while driving on a snail speed. Day game drives with UWA/Park guide costs USD30 per person, and Night game drives cost USD40 per person. Depending on the number of game drives you would like to do.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park
Chimpanzee trekking is one of the activities to do on a Uganda gorilla, game and chimpanzee safari. The activity allows you to see the chimpanzees in their natural Environment and they are very interesting to Watch. Kibale National Park is referred to as the Primate capital because it has the highest population of Chimpanzees in Uganda.
The trekking starts with briefing at the park headquarters with dos and don’ts while on the trek, visitors are later allowed to start the walk to the forest until they find the chimps, guides and Park rangers always ensure the safety of the clients while in the forest. The chimpanzee Trekking permit is very essential to those interested to see the chimpanzees that are already used to people and only allows one hour of viewing and staying with the chimpanzee once you find them.
There are three sessions for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest national park Namely; Morning session that starts at 8:00am, Mid-morning session that starts at Mid-day and the afternoon session that starts at 12pm throughout the year
The chimpanzee trekking permits are key when planning a Uganda gorilla, game and chimpanzee safari. The chimpanzee permits are sold at the offices of the Uganda wildlife Authority and the permit price is inclusive of the entrance fees and guiding fees, the chimpanzee Trekking permit costs USD 250 per person Non-Foreign Residents, USD200 Per person Foreign Residents and Uganda shillings 250,000 per person for East African Citizens.
