Itinerary

Meet your guide for the Gorilla trekking in Uganda starting from Kigali and start off from Kigali for your gorilla trekking adventure (if flying in same day plan for a flight arriving at the latest around midday). Cross over to Uganda and continue on to the lodge by the edge of the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP. Ishasha is known for its tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior for these big cats.

Dinner overnight at and Lebambou Gorilla Lodge

Rise early for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. As dawn breaks, you'll have the best chance of spotting the park's diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, and numerous bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and a brief rest.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This waterway is teeming with wildlife, and you can expect to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds along the banks. The cruise offers fantastic photo opportunities and a relaxing way to observe the animals in their natural environment. Enjoy dinner back at the lodge and spend the evening recounting the day's wildlife encounters.

Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge

On the way to Bwindi National Park, we will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. Unlike their counterparts at the Kasenyi plains, the lions at Ishasha have found a way to climb the fig trees to enjoy the warm temperatures. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit! We will spend the night at Bwindi National Park.

Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Safari Lodge

Today is the day that many of you will have been waiting for. We will embark on a full-day adventure to track the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest National Park. The trek will commence with a short briefing on gorillas trekking rules to ensure the safety of both the guests and the gorillas. We will then start the trek into the Impenetrable Forest to encounter the gentle giants of Bwindi National Park. We will follow the expert guides, looking for signs of the gorillas and changing direction accordingly until we find them. After this rare and memorable experience is over, we will spend the rest of the day and night in Bwindi National Park.
