Upon arrival in Kigali, you will do a complimentary city tour of Kigali. Known as the “land of a thousand hills,” this vibrant city was named in 1907 by Dr. Richard Kandt, the first colonial governor of Rwanda. As you explore, you’ll be surrounded by lush green hills and rich culture, visiting fascinating spots like the craft market, the poignant Gisozi Genocide Memorial, and the enlightening Kigali Museum. Each location tells a story, inviting you to connect with the heart of Rwanda and the resilience of its people.
You will then embark on a scenic two-hour drive to the Ruhengeri area, framed by the majestic Virunga Mountains as you prepare for the gorilla experience the next day
